A suspension concentrate larvicide with 20% Pyriproxyfen, a juvenile hormone analogue that prevents larvae from maturing into adults.
Product description
Proksvek 20 SC is a suspension concentrate (SC) larvicide containing 20% Pyriproxyfen. Pyriproxyfen is a juvenile hormone analogue that mimics the growth and molting hormones secreted by the endocrine glands of pests.
The juvenile hormone, which regulates the orderly development of the larval and pupal stages before adulthood, decreases with each molt and stops at the final stage so the larva can pupate. Because the externally applied analogue keeps the hormone level constantly high, the larva cannot progress to the next stage and dies.
Application: against mosquito larvae, use a knapsack sprayer in clean water by adding 1 litre of product to 999 litres of water and applying 50 litres of mixture per hectare (10 g active ingredient/ha); in polluted water also apply 10 g active ingredient/ha. Against housefly larvae in waste, manure and treatment pits, dilute 100 ml of product to 2000 litres of water and apply 5 litres of mixture per square metre (0.05 g active ingredient/m2). The application interval is 30 days.
